Few people will know that a license has to be taken to watch TV in the United Kingdom... It is about 150 pounds annually... If you look at it month by month, it is about 15 pounds.
This cost is of Colored TV, Black and White is less....and all this money goes to fund BBC. Now you would think that this is a normal process…. Government is taking TV license money and giving it to Government Broadcaster BBC… Same thing happens here…. Tax money BSNL, All India Radio etc. is given.
But there is a difference in the United Kingdom.
If someone has TV then he has to take license.. otherwise he can be punished.. Penalty and Jail too.
Every year lakhs of people are arrested in this crime….thousands of people go to jail….forcibly penalty is recovered from them…so that BBC's stomach is full….and most of these people are middle class. class or poor people only.
Today this same BBC is making hue and cry in India that Freedom of Press is in danger... because the government has checked its accounts.
With what mouth do the people who put lakhs of people in jail talk about Freedom??
